Please advise if the mode "mod_rewrite" is on in apache.

.htaccess
If your server can handle apache mod_rewrite, you may use the below .htaccess setting for cool uri. If you use this option, you have to turn on COOL URI config at legacy preference setting.

"mod_rewrite" already enabled on this server.

For example in .htaccess:
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule ^forum/(.*)$ modules/d3forum/index.php?$1 [QSA,L]
